That’s when the Matneys vowed to make sure that Medema would never be able to escape the stigma of what she had done to Raylee. In fact, Whitney wanted to make certain that Medema was never permitted to babysit or be around other kids ever again. Armed with the knowledge of what had happened, Whitney got to work. First she started speaking out to offer advice to other parents on how to hire the right people, and how to notice the signs that a child was being abused. She also started to compile a child-abuse registry, similar to the sex offender registry, which parents could search to ensure that people like Medema were known to the community.
Through it all, Whitney Matney is determined to be a force for good. SHe is well aware that many people in Medema’s shoes wind up getting their records expunged. She wants to track down every person who has had their record expunged in order to sound the alarm to other parents.
