Jessica Sierra
American Idol launched some superstars, but many more of its contestants have crashed and burned. Jessica Sierra was a finalist in 2005 and released an album, but a nasty drug addiction kept her on the fringes of the entertainment business, Sierra later appeared on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab. But when Sierra was arrested in 2008, the judge sentenced Sierra to a year in rehab, during which time she was prohibited from giving interviews, promoting her VH1 show, or appearing on TV. After successfully completing her sentence, Sierra released the album Rebound, but it failed to chart. Sierra is now sober, but has worked a series of jobs to support her two sons, including a waitress gig at Hooters.
